Weld Re-8 Community,
Early this morning, we were made aware of a student who tested positive for COVID-19. As school began for in-person learning this past Monday, this student was in attendance at Fort Lupton High School. With the two cohort groups, this impacted the first day cohort. Students were immediately sent home to quarantine for 14 days. Later Wednesday, August 19, 2020, we were informed that a student in the second cohort has tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing has occured to identify other individuals who had contact with the positive COVID-19 students. We have been in close contact with the Weld County Health Department and are following all Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment recommendations. Fort Lupton High School will move to full remote learning for all students effective Thursday, August 20, 2020. No students will be in the In-Person learning through September 7, 2020 and will return to the In-Person option on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. All other Weld Re-8 schools remain open for In-Person learning.
