September Newsletter

Parents, Students and Community Members,

Thank you for making the start of this school year a success.  The newly remodeled classrooms in phase one of our construction have been well received by students and teachers.  Students are settling into their educational routines, and a climate of learning has been established.

The month of September brings many exciting events for the Bluedevils.  Students will be creating accounts on Khan Academy for practice with PSAT and SAT testing, and will take their first practice test this month.  Students will then go over their results with core content area teachers, and set goals for improvement.  The state has committed to having Freshmen and Sophomores take a PSAT test, while Juniors take the SAT.  This is a change from having Freshmen take the PARCC test, which will no longer be administered.  This is an important step toward preparing our students for the SAT – which is one of the nationally accepted college entrance tests.

Homecoming week kicks off with a school assembly on Friday, September 8th at 2:30pm.  There will be activities throughout the week of September 11th including; peach fuzz, powder puff, a bonfire, a football game on Friday, September 15th, and the homecoming dance on Saturday the 16th.  Students must be eligible to attend these events.  See our activity page for a schedule of events.

There will be no late start Mondays this month.  Late starts will begin in October.

Parents please help support your student by signing up for the parent portal and checking periodically on their grades and attendance.  Mrs. Zito in our registrar’s office can assist you in obtaining a username and password.  Teachers are available during office hours to work with students who have questions or need assistance.  Students, please advocate for yourselves and talk to your teachers when you need help.  “Don’t be shy about asking for help.  It doesn’t mean you’re weak, it only means you’re wise.  www.iliketoquote.com

Thank you for your support of Fort Lupton High School.  I am looking forward to a successful school year.
