October Newsletter

Dear FLHS Families,

Happy October! I would like to thank all who participated in, or attended the many events of Homecoming week.  It was a fun and exciting time, and as expected, our students were stellar in terms of their participation and demonstration of Bluedevil pride.

The state of Colorado has named Wednesday, October 3rd as our official student count day.  Therefore, it is important for all students to be in attendance on this day.  Our official student count determines the amount of funding we receive from the state.

Parent – Teacher conferences will be held Wednesday, October 11th from 4:00 -8:00pm, and Thursday, October 12th from 4:00-8:00pm.  The teachers will be set up in the high school gym for conferences.  Friday, October 13th there will be no school for students nor staff.

In addition to conferences, a college fair will take place in the high school commons on Wednesday, October 11th from 4:00-8:00pm.  Over 13 colleges will be represented at the Fair.  Students interested in learning more about surrounding Colorado Colleges, should plan to attend.   A parent and student FAFSA workshop will held in F-1 during the college fair.  If you need assistance with FAFSA, please bring your 2016 tax return documents.

The high school will be hosting a Bonfils Blood Drive on October 11th from 7:30am-3:30pm in F-1.  If you would like to donate blood, you can make an appointment at appointment_center@bonfils.org or call the appointment center at 303-363-2300.

Trick-or-Treat street will be held at the high school on Monday, October 30th from 4:30-6:30pm.  We will have a new route this year through the building, in order to avoid the construction areas that are a part of our ongoing renovation.  Our clubs are looking forward to providing a safe and spooky-fun event for all children in the community pre-school to 8th grade.

Parents please help your student(s) succeed in high school by monitoring their progress in Infinite Campus.  Through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you have access to your child’s attendance and grades.  If you have not signed up for the parent portal, contact Marisol Zito at 303-857-7119 for a username and password.  You can also update your contact information (email, phone, address) with Mrs. Zito.  In addition to our daily attendance dialers, we are now sending out weekly grade dialers to the households of students with D’s or F’s in classes.  Our goal is to open the lines of communication, so that we can work together for the success of our students.

Thank you parents and guardians for all you do for our students!
